The traditional and stereotypical view of the Australian lifestyle is that of playing at the beach and throwing another prawn (shrimp) on the barbie. However there's a lot more to it than that.
The stereotypes come from the fact that the Australian climate and weather facilitates outdoor activities. Also, due to the location of fresh water, almost all of Australia's population lives within an hour or two of the ocean, and hence the beach.
The reality is that Australia is vast and diverse, offering a wide variety of lifestyles and opportunities.

Most Australians spend their leisure time engaging in outdoor pursuits including fishing, camping, bushwalking and playing or watching sport.
A significant amount of Australian's regularly dine out and as such have discriminating palettes; this ensures the quality of restaurant food is extremely high. The country’s multi-cultural background ensures we have a diverse range of foods to choose from. Australia is also one of the premier wine producing countries in the world, and as such, our tastes a very refined.
