MAJOR OBJECTIVES

  • Ensure the efficient and effective project controls activities for the project.
  • Adherence to the McConnell Dowell Integrated Management System and Project Execution Plan.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for Cost Engineering, Cost Control Planning and scheduling functions for projects.
  • Provides overall cost and progress reports and other matters related to schedule and cost as required by the Controls Manager and Project Manager.
  • Co-ordinates the managers, engineers, superintendents and supervisors on scheduling and status of each project.
  • Compiles daily, weekly and monthly reports for all main areas on information received from managers, engineers, superintendents and supervisors.
  • Monitors the control of fabrication and field construction schedules for both overall and “look ahead” programs.
  • Prepares reports on progress, manpower and costs and co-ordinates the work scheduling and procurement.
  • Monitors and co-ordinates the maintenance and change of construction schedules, methods, manning charts and equipment requirements.
  • Provides accurate forecasting and advises on actions to be taken to prevent or improve undesirable trends in progress.
  • Responsible for progress claim/cost allocation/forecast cost to complete to ensure efficient cost control of the project.

ANCILLARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversees the control of documents including drawings and ensures the distribution of documents is adhered to the approved procedure.
  • Identify possible time and cost impact issues i.e. set up and manage Variation Order Detection System.
  • Any other duties as may be required by the Company.
