Contract Award Extension – Asset Inspection and Maintenance Services, Electrix, Victoria The Company is pleased to announce that Powercor Australia has awarded Electrix Pty Ltd a further extension to the existing contract for provision of Asset Inspection and Maintenance Services on the Powercor and CitiPower electricity networks in Melbourne and Western Victoria. The contract includes a cyclical inspection program for network assets in high bushfire risk areas. Electrix has successfully provided a similar range of services for Powercor since 1997 when the original Asset Inspection contract was signed. The contract has been retained continuously over this period with regular benchmarking by Powercor against the market under a competitive tender process. Read more

The Bogong Power Development Project, awarded to McConnell Dowell as a design and construct (D&C) contract by AGL Southern Hydro, is the largest hydro power project constructed in Australia in 25 years. It consists of a network of tunnels and shafts and the construction of a new underground hydro electric power station in a picturesque national park near the Victorian ski fields at Falls Creek. Contact Energy has awarded the contract to develop its 166 megawatt Te Mihi geothermal project in New Zealand to a consortium of partners including McConnell Dowell, SNC-Lavalin and Parsons Brinckerhoff New Zealand. The Company is pleased to advise that Alstom Power Singapore Pte Ltd has awarded McConnell Dowell South East Asia Pte Ltd the civil contract for phase A of the Keppel Merlimau Cogen II Power Station Project. The scope of work includes: all underground services for the 400MW combined cycle unit; civil foundation works for the gas and steam turbine; turbine hall; Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG); feedwater rack; approx 20,000 m3 of concrete and 2,000 t of reinforcing steel in the foundations; transformer area and miscellaneous structures; and building works for the warehouse, electrical control building and GIS Station. The Company is pleased to announce that the team at the Ambuklao and Binga Hydropower Plants Rehabilitation project in the Philippines have achieved 1,000,000 man hours LTI free. The Company is pleased to advise that Electrix has been awarded a contract by Western Power for its Asset Inspection Services. The contract scope will include asset inspection services across 50% of Western Power's electricity network in the South Western corner of Western Australia. The contract period is for an initial two year term with an option for a further one year extension. The mobilisation period for the works has commenced with field works to commence early July. The Company is pleased to advise that Electrix Australia has been awarded a further Asset Inspection Contract for Ergon Energy’s Central Queensland region for a period of 3+1+1 years. The Project Office has been established in Rockhampton for 8 years, and securing this new Contract is a result of hard work and continuous improvement by the Electrix team.
